I haven't been to a Winterhawks game in years. I've had the opportunity to attend a few games this season. The crowd is always fun, the games are usually great, the parking is pretty reasonable, and the tickets are well priced for a minor league. Go Hawks!
If you ask this hawk fan it’s still the best show in town. I’ve been a Winterhawks fanatic since I was old enough to be on the team. I wasn’t ever a hockey player but watching these young men float around the ice sure is exciting. We went to the second game of the playoff series with the Seattle Thunderbirds. Playing the T-Birds is always a treat. But a playoff game against them is about as good as one can hope for. After tense two and a half periods the hawks took the lead and eventually won game two. What a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day.
My only complaints would be, it seems like the price for admission and concessions have gotten a little bit expensive but so has just about everything else. And having gone for so many seasons you tend to miss things that were such a big part of the experience. Like being able to stand by the locker room as players enter and exit the ice. It was so much fun as a kid being able to high five the players or root them on up close.
It’s still a great time and I’ll defiantly be back to scream… Let’s Go Hawks!!
Winterhawks games are a blast! The fans are enthusiastic but not obnoxious, tickets are reasonably priced, and the action on the ice is terrific. They have a tradition (I think they just celebrated their 25th year in a row) of hosting a game on New Year's Eve - it's a wonderful way to enjoy a game, with an option to skate with the players afterwards). It's great to get to see minor league hockey players refining their skills and putting on a really fun show. One thing to keep in mind when buying tickets - if there is a basketball game happening the same night, the Hawks will play in the Colosseum, where the knee room can get pretty cramped.
Great team, great venue, enthusiastic but small crowd. I had fun and enjoyed the game even though we lost.
Love to come to the games great atmosphere friendly staff too bad the food menu is limited to only hot dogs and chicken strips for protein.
Teddy bear toss is a tradition for our family each year. What fun for all. If you have never gone, it is a must to see.
Fantastic experience! Great game! Hawks won in sudden death after being down 2 goals in the 3rd period. Family atmosphere. Great view and comfortable roomy seating even in the nosebleeds. Arena and restrooms were clean. Getting in and out was hassle free.
The team is small this year but still full of spunk. The little guys are still reaching up to facewash the other teams players. Not many fans tonight but the crowd is into it. This is definitely a great team to cheer for.
